Sculptor, painter and book publisher Christoph Meyer, under his imprint Aligator Press, uses the lyrics of Bob Dylan´s song, Poilitical World , as the inspiration for a series of digital prints. The configutation of the American flag forms the basis of many of his images, Dylan´s words fitted into or partially effaced by the stripes. In other prints a human head, a gun, an eye float unmoored within the flag armature. Meyer uses digital printing processes (iris, perhaps?) to replicate the layering of intricate draftsmanship juxtaposed against areas of opaque pigment that mark his unique books. The aggresive darkness of Dylan´s message echoed in Meyer´s choice of intense color: hot oranges and russet colors mixed with intense blues and dense blacks.
